Students must bring the following items to EVERY class, even if certain materials are not used every day.
Pencil/pen
Notebook/binder/loose-leaf paper (individual choice)
Chrome book (will be supplied by the school)
Planner
Students may be asked to wear clothes that they do not mind getting dirty on specific days due to hands-on project work.
Missing/Late Assignments
All assignments are due at the beginning of the period on the given due date. Assignments will be given a zero until the student hands it in, at which point, the grade will reflect accuracy as well as the number of days late. (Please refer to the OWLS Flight to Success Handbook for late homework policies.)
Grading
The following categories are weighted as follows:
Projects: 50%
Classwork: 30%
Quizzes/Labs/Homework: 20%
Leaving the Classroom
Students must sign out via Smart Pass each time they leave the room. Acceptable reasons for leaving the classroom include:
Bathroom
Water fountain
Office
Emergencies
Other reasons accepted by the teacher
Throughout the school year, students will use the design cycle to guide them through an array of projects. In addition to the hands-on aspect of projects, students will also utilize their writing skills to reflect on gained knowledge, as well as work on research skills for supporting their writing and project development.
